Book a Session (Player)

This guide walks you through the complete process of booking a session as a player in SlotBase. From browsing available times to receiving your confirmation, each step is designed to be straightforward and fast.


Before You Begin

Make sure you have:

  • A SlotBase account (sign up at the facility's booking page if you don't have one)
  • An active membership or guest access at the facility, if required

Some facilities require membership before you can book. If you see a message that you cannot book, contact the facility to check your membership status.


Step-by-Step Booking Flow

1. Browse the Calendar

Navigate to the facility's booking page. You will see a calendar view showing available resources (courts, fields, rooms, etc.) and their time slots.

  • Use the date picker to select the day you want to play.
  • Use the resource filter to narrow down to a specific court or field.
  • Available slots appear as open blocks on the calendar. Unavailable slots are grayed out.

2. Select a Time Slot

Click on an available time slot for the resource you want. A booking panel will open showing:

  • The resource name (e.g., "Court 1")
  • The date and time of the session
  • The duration of the slot
  • The price for the session

3. Hold Is Created

Once you select a slot, the system automatically creates a temporary hold on that time. This reserves the slot for you while you review and confirm your booking.

Holds are temporary and typically last 5 minutes. If you do not confirm within this window, the hold expires and the slot becomes available to others. The exact duration depends on the facility's settings.

4. Review and Confirm

On the confirmation screen, review your booking details:

  • Resource and time slot
  • Price and any applicable discounts
  • Cancellation policy for the facility

Click Confirm Booking to finalize your reservation.

5. Booking Is Created

After confirmation, one of two things happens depending on the facility's settings:

  • No approval required: Your booking status is set to CONFIRMED immediately. You are ready to play.
  • Approval required: Your booking status is set to PENDING approval. You will receive a notification once the facility admin approves or rejects your booking.

You can check the status of your booking at any time from your Player Dashboard under My Bookings.

6. Payment

Depending on the facility's payment configuration:

  • Pay online at the time of booking (if the facility has online payments enabled)
  • Pay at the facility when you arrive (offline payment)
  • Pay later if the facility allows deferred payment

Your booking confirmation will indicate the expected payment method.

Tips for Players

  • Book early. Popular time slots fill up fast, especially during peak hours.
  • Watch for hold expiration. Complete your confirmation promptly to avoid losing your slot.
  • Check cancellation policies. Each facility sets its own cancellation window and fees. Review these before confirming.
  • Enable notifications. Stay informed about booking confirmations, approvals, and reminders.

Troubleshooting
