Payment Methods
SlotBase supports a variety of payment methods across two categories: offline methods (recorded by staff) and online methods (processed through Stripe). This page provides a complete reference for all available payment methods.
Offline Payment Methods
Offline methods are used when a player pays at the facility and a staff member records the payment in SlotBase. These methods are available to all facilities by default.
| Method | Description | Common Use Case |
|---|---|---|
| Cash | Physical currency | Walk-in payments at the front desk |
| Check | Personal or business check | Program enrollment fees, larger amounts |
| Bank Transfer | Wire transfer or ACH payment | Organization payments, recurring transfers |
| Venmo | Peer-to-peer payment via Venmo | Quick mobile payments between individuals |
| Zelle | Peer-to-peer payment via Zelle | Bank-to-bank transfers without fees |
| Other | Any method not listed above | Gift cards, money orders, or facility-specific methods |
The availability of specific offline methods depends on what your facility accepts. Not every facility supports every method. Ask your facility's front desk for details.
When Offline Methods Are Available
Offline payment methods can be used in the following situations:
- Paying for a booking at the facility
- Paying an outstanding invoice at the front desk
- Making a partial payment toward a balance
- Paying late cancellation or no-show fees
Online Payment Methods
Online payments are processed through Stripe Checkout when a facility has connected their Stripe account. Players pay directly from their browser or mobile device.
| Method | Description | Availability |
|---|---|---|
| Credit Card | Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover | Requires Stripe connection |
| Debit Card | Visa Debit, Mastercard Debit, and others | Requires Stripe connection |
Stripe Checkout handles all card processing securely. Your card details are never stored in SlotBase.
When Online Methods Are Available
Online payment methods can be used when:
- The facility has a connected Stripe account
- The payment timing is set to At Booking or Before Session
- The player is completing a booking, event registration, or invoice payment through SlotBase
Choosing a Payment Method
The payment method you use depends on your facility's configuration and your personal preference:
| Scenario | Recommended Method |
|---|---|
| Booking a session online | Credit or debit card (Stripe) |
| Paying at the front desk | Cash, check, or any accepted offline method |
| Paying a monthly invoice online | Credit or debit card (Stripe) |
| Paying a monthly invoice in person | Any accepted offline method |
| Organization paying for multiple members | Bank transfer or check |
Payment Method by Audience
Different users interact with payment methods in different ways:
| Role | What You Can Do |
|---|---|
| Player | Pay online via Stripe Checkout, or pay offline at the facility |
| Parent/Guardian | Same as player, plus manage payments for children on the family account |
| Admin/Staff | Record offline payments, view all transactions, issue refunds |
| Facility Admin | Configure accepted methods, connect Stripe, set payment timing |
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I save my card for future payments? Currently, SlotBase does not store cards for repeat use. You enter your card details each time you pay online through Stripe Checkout.
Does SlotBase support PayPal? No. Online payments are processed exclusively through Stripe. For in-person payments, your facility may accept Venmo, Zelle, or other peer-to-peer methods as offline payments.
Can I split a payment between two methods? Not in a single transaction. However, you can make a partial payment with one method and complete the balance with another. For example, you could pay part in cash and part online.
