Stripe Setup
SlotBase integrates with Stripe to let your facility accept online credit and debit card payments. This guide explains how to connect your Stripe account and what to expect once online payments are enabled.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, make sure you have the following:
- A facility admin account in SlotBase
- A Stripe account (you can create one during the setup process)
- Your business details (legal name, address, bank account for payouts)
SlotBase uses Stripe Connect, which means your facility maintains its own Stripe account. Payments go directly to your account, and SlotBase never holds your funds.
Connecting Your Stripe Account
- Log in to SlotBase as a facility admin.
- Navigate to Settings > Payment Settings.
- In the Online Payments section, click Connect with Stripe.
- You will be redirected to Stripe's onboarding flow.
- If you already have a Stripe account, sign in. Otherwise, create a new account.
- Complete Stripe's verification process:
- Enter your business details (name, address, type)
- Provide your bank account information for payouts
- Verify your identity as required by Stripe
- Once complete, you will be redirected back to SlotBase.
- Your Payment Settings page will show the Stripe connection status as Connected.
The Stripe verification process may take a few minutes to a few days depending on your country and business type. You can start accepting payments as soon as Stripe marks your account as active.
What Happens After Setup
Once your Stripe account is connected:
- Players will see an online payment option when booking sessions or paying invoices.
- Payments are processed through Stripe Checkout, a secure, hosted payment page.
- Funds are deposited into your connected bank account according to Stripe's payout schedule (typically 2 business days).
- Transaction records are automatically created in SlotBase for every online payment.
Platform Commission
SlotBase may charge a platform commission on online payments, depending on your subscription plan. This commission is:
- Configured per plan by the SlotBase platform administrator
- Deducted automatically from each transaction before the payout reaches your bank account
- Visible in your Stripe dashboard under fees
Check your facility's subscription plan details to understand the applicable commission rate. This is separate from Stripe's own processing fees.
Stripe Processing Fees
In addition to any SlotBase platform commission, Stripe charges its own processing fees for each transaction. These fees are set by Stripe and vary by country and payment method. You can review Stripe's current pricing on their website.
Managing Your Stripe Connection
Viewing Connection Status
You can check your Stripe connection status at any time:
- Navigate to Settings > Payment Settings.
- The Online Payments section displays your connection status and connected Stripe account ID.
Disconnecting Stripe
If you need to disconnect your Stripe account:
- Navigate to Settings > Payment Settings.
- Click Disconnect Stripe.
- Confirm the disconnection.
Disconnecting Stripe will immediately disable online payments for your facility. Any pending transactions will still be processed, but players will no longer be able to pay online for new bookings.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do my players need a Stripe account? No. Players pay using a standard credit or debit card through Stripe Checkout. They do not need their own Stripe account.
Can I use my existing Stripe account? Yes. During the connection flow, you can sign in to your existing Stripe account instead of creating a new one.
Is online payment required for players? No. Even after Stripe is connected, players may still be able to pay offline at the facility, depending on your payment timing settings. Stripe is always optional for facilities.
