Trial Sessions

Trial sessions let players experience a program firsthand before making a financial commitment. When a facility enables trials for a program, new players can attend one free session to evaluate the coach, format, and overall fit before deciding to enroll.

How Trials Work

The trial process follows these steps:

  1. Player finds a program with trials enabled.
  2. Player enrolls with the Trial option instead of paid enrollment.
  3. Player attends the trial session at the next scheduled program date.
  4. After the trial, the player decides to convert to a paid enrollment or decline.
info

Not all programs offer trials. The facility admin controls whether trials are enabled for each program. If you do not see a trial option during enrollment, the program requires paid enrollment from the start.

Starting a Trial

To begin a trial:

  1. Navigate to the program you are interested in.
  2. Click Enroll.
  3. Select Start with Trial (if the option is available).
  4. Confirm your enrollment.
  5. Your enrollment status is set to Trial.

You will see the next available session on your calendar. Attend that session as your free trial.

Trial Enrollment Status

During your trial period, your enrollment has the Trial status. This means:

  • You are enrolled in the program but have not started paid billing.
  • You can attend the designated trial session at no charge.
  • The trial has a defined end date (trialEndsAt) after which you must decide.
  • You appear on the attendance roster alongside paid enrollees.

Trial Limits

Facilities can configure how many trial sessions a player is allowed:

SettingDescription
Trials per programThe maximum number of free trial sessions a player can take for a single program. Typically this is one session.
warning

You cannot take unlimited trials for the same program. Once you have used your allotted trial sessions, you must enroll as a paid subscriber to continue attending.

What Happens During the Trial Session

Your trial session is identical to a regular program session:

  • You participate alongside enrolled students.
  • The coach delivers the same curriculum and instruction.
  • Your attendance is tracked just like other students.
  • You get the full experience of what the program offers.
tip

Use your trial session to evaluate the coach's teaching style, the group dynamics, and whether the skill level and pace match your goals. Take note of things like class size, equipment provided, and the facility environment.

After the Trial

When your trial period ends, you have two options:

Convert to Paid Enrollment

  1. Go to My Programs on your Player Dashboard.
  2. Find the program with the trial enrollment.
  3. Click Convert to Paid.
  4. Confirm your subscription.
  5. Your enrollment status changes from Trial to Active.
  6. Monthly billing begins from the conversion date.

Decline the Program

If the program is not the right fit:

  1. Go to My Programs on your Player Dashboard.
  2. Find the trial enrollment.
  3. Click Decline or simply let the trial period expire.
  4. Your enrollment status moves to Cancelled.
  5. No charges are applied.
info

If you do not take action by the trial end date, your trial enrollment expires automatically. You will not be charged, but you will need to enroll again if you change your mind later.

Trial Sessions for Families

Parents can start trials for their children:

  1. Select the child during the enrollment process.
  2. Choose Start with Trial.
  3. The trial is tracked under the child's profile.
  4. The parent receives notifications about the trial status and conversion deadline.

Trials and Capacity

Trial enrollees count toward the program's capacity. This means:

  • If a program has 20 maximum spots and 19 are filled (including 2 trial students), only 1 spot remains.
  • Trial students who decline free up their spot for the next person on the waitlist.
caution

If you are on a waitlist and a spot opens due to a trial declining, you will be notified. Act quickly to secure your enrollment, as waitlist offers have a limited acceptance window.

Admin Configuration

Facility admins control trial settings when creating or editing a program:

SettingWhat It Controls
Trial EnabledWhether the program offers trial sessions at all
Trials Per ProgramHow many free sessions a player can take before they must enroll (configured in facility settings)
