Coach Overview

SlotBase provides a full-featured coaching system that connects coaches with players at sports facilities. Whether you teach tennis, cricket, pickleball, basketball, or any other supported sport, the coaching module gives you the tools to manage your availability, set pricing, and grow your student base.

How Coaching Works​

The coaching system involves three roles working together:

The Coach Journey​

Here is the typical flow for a new coach joining a facility:

  1. Create your profile -- Set up your bio, specializations, certifications, and experience level.
  2. Affiliate with a facility -- Request affiliation or accept an invitation from a facility admin.
  3. Get approved -- The facility admin reviews and activates your affiliation.
  4. Create blocks -- Define your available time slots, lesson types, and pricing.
  5. Blocks get approved -- The facility admin approves your blocks so players can see them.
  6. Players book -- Players browse your published blocks and book lessons.
  7. Deliver lessons -- Meet your students, track attendance, and build your roster.

Affiliation with Facilities​

Before you can coach at a facility, you need an active affiliation. There are two ways to get affiliated:

  • Coach-initiated -- You send a request to the facility. The admin reviews and approves it.
  • Facility-initiated -- The admin invites you to coach at their facility. You accept the invitation.

Each affiliation defines the terms of your engagement at that facility, including your hourly rate, the lesson types you can offer, the sports you teach, the age groups you serve, and any commission arrangement.

Affiliation Statuses​

What Coaches Can Do​

Once your affiliation is active, you have access to a dedicated coach dashboard where you can:

  • Create and manage blocks -- Define when and where you are available to teach.
  • View your schedule -- See all upcoming lessons, blocks, and events in a calendar view.
  • Manage students -- Track your active, paused, and inactive students.
  • Update your profile -- Keep your bio, certifications, and rates current.
  • Lead events -- Facilitate clinics, camps, and other events assigned to you.

For cricket coaching, you can specify additional details like ball type (vinyl or leather) and focus area (batting, bowling, fielding, wicketkeeping, or all-round).

Coaches can offer several types of lessons depending on their affiliation settings:
